Keeping You Informed

Our water consumers should be the best informed in the world. That's our goal. It is also why we built this web site, issue media releases, send out bill inserts, create fact sheets and compile water quality reports. All of our consumer information work centers on one thing: keeping you informed about the quality of the water you drink and what we're doing to keep it safe, abundant and affordable. We're also working to be sure we're ready when tougher water quality regulations are set by state and federal agencies. Our goal is to provide water that is better than required by government standards and to back it up with high quality service at affordable rates. We want you to understand where we are going and how we plan to get there.

Water RunningWater Quality & Supply:

How Much Water Do We Have?

Most years our region is blessed with more than enough precipitation. In a typical year, all the snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain that usually falls on south central Connecticut is enough to fill our reservoirs and replenish our wellfield aquifers. How much water do we have?

Lake Whitney PlantThe Lake Whitney Water Treatment Plant Project

The Regional Water Authority has a website devoted entirely to the Lake Whitney Water Treatment Plant project. The facility that our new plant is replacing was built in 1905 and has not been in use for several years. The time has come to rebuild the plant using updated technology to allow us to meet the long-term water needs of our area. We are committed to providing members of the surrounding community and interested public with current information on all aspects of this project. We are also committed to responding to community concerns about the project and to protecting the interests of the residents surrounding the site.
