RFP for Flood Alert System – Field Hardware Maintenance

The South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority is inviting interested firms specializing in flood ALERT system maintenance to provide the Authority with a proposal for maintaining our flood ALERT gauging network.

HVAC System Replacement for Computer Room

The Contractor shall provide all labor, superintendence, materials, plant, tools, and equipment necessary for improvements to the structure and site as specified in the detailed specification, excluding any reference to the Air Handling Units, which are not part of this project.

Prospective Bidders shall attend a mandatory pre-bid site inspection at the job location on Tues, July 8, 2008, at 9:00 a.m.  Prospective bidders will be meeting with Jim Flynn, Facilities Manager.

Painting Grassy Hill Tank

Painting of the 4.3 Million Gallon Grassy Hill Water Storage Tank consists of cleaning, surface preparation, application of a new interior tank lining and spot repair and overcoating the tank exterior protective coating system and appurtenances, installation of foundation moisture barriers, and installation of new cathodic protection appurtenances.

Bidding and Contract Documents may be purchased at the office of the Owner.  The Authority’s “Confidentiality Agreement” must be signed in order to purchase the Bidding and Contract Documents.  A fee of $75.00 will be charged for each set of Documents.  Checks for Bidding and Contract Documents shall be made payable to the South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority.

Bidding Documents will be mailed for a non-refundable handling and postage charge of $20.00 made payable to Regional Water Authority or by using a FedEx account number.

Bidders who have submitted a valid bid shall return all Bidding and Contract Documents in their entirety to the Authority within 30 days of the Bid Opening for this project.   Upon receipt of the documents, the Receiving Party may be refunded the document fee.

A Pre-Bid meeting, for bidders only, will be held at the Regional Water Authority’s offices at 90 Sargent Drive, New Haven, Connecticut at 9:00 a.m. current eastern time on Thursday, July 10, 2008.  A valid form of photo identification is required for each person attending.  Individuals lacking proper identification or unable to produce satisfactory identification may be denied access to the site.  Access to the exterior roof of the tank will be available.  However, each person climbing the tank is required and shall be responsible to provide his or her own fall protection equipment in accordance with OSHA regulations and submit a current certificate of insurance for worker’s compensation, general liability and automobile coverage two business days prior to the pre-bid meeting.  The South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority’s representative attending the meeting will be Mr. Brian Robillard, Project Engineer, and he should be contacted at the Authority’s office with questions concerning the meeting.   A visit to the Grassy Hill Tank site in Orange, Connecticut will take place immediately following the Pre-Bid meeting.  Attendance at the Pre-Bid meeting is not mandatory to submit a bid, however, it will be the only opportunity for a bidder to become familiar with site conditions.
