Rate Schedules

Your water bill has two major components, the service charge and the usage charge. The service charge pays for the fixed costs of providing water to your home so water is there at the turn of the faucet when you need it. These costs are based on meter size and are intended to recover the costs of meter reading and servicing, accounting, billing and collection, customer service, and any other costs that are directly related to you, the customer.

The usage charge is the cost of producing and distributing water. Your usage charge varies depending on how much water you have used in the preceding three months. If you use less water, your usage charge will be lower.

The service charge for the typical 5/8” meter residential customer represents only 35% of the water bill with the volumetric rate or usage charge accounting for the remaining 65%.
