Hike, jog, cross-country ski or just meander along more than 60 miles of trails through Regional Water Authority watershed lands. Fish from the shores in the sparkling clean water of five secluded reservoirs or from our 70-foot long, wheelchair accessible dock at Lake Saltonstall. Bike through an 18th century settlement at Little Genesee in North Madison and more. With nine recreation areas located in 13 communities, there is bound to be an area close to you. Photos from our annual photo contest will give you an idea of how much we have to offer.
Nature’s wonderland is waiting to be discovered on any part of the Water Authority’s network of trails. All it takes is a Regional Water Authority Recreation Permit. Buying a Recreation Permit is like contributing to a regional conservation organization. It’s your way to help insure that future generations will have these same natural resources to enjoy.
As a permit holder, you can enjoy the convenience of free parking and easy-to-read trail maps. We also have areas with special design features for access by people with disabilities. Plus, we’ll invite you to guided nature walks, our annual kids fishing derby and other special events which are only open to our permit holders.
Permits range in cost from $20 for a one-year Individual Permit for seniors, the disabled or students to $50 for a two-year Family Permit. Get more information on recreation permit options and costs.
Other permits available include a Horseback Riding (Genesee Tract only) Family Permit and an Organizational Permit. For more information on those permits, please call our Recreation Department at 203-401-2654 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Be sure to review our Recreation Program Rules and Regulations before purchase.
