Water is a key element of a prosperous, healthy community. It is a symbol of our region’s bounty and a resource to which citizens are entitled. The South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority takes great pride in its delivery of this critical service.
The FY2015-FY2020 Strategic Plan is our road map to take the organization from our mission of providing customers with high quality water and services at a reasonable cost while promoting the preservation of watershed land and aquifers to our vision of being best in class as a provider of water and related services. It guides everything we do – from improving the Authority’s reputation, to growing and maintaining its highly qualified and flexible workforce, to financial decisions, to management of our assets.
More than 120 employees volunteered to help develop this Strategic Plan through workshop sessions spanning 10 months. The first organization-wide step was to identify and refine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOTs). Working in small teams, employees then offered 133 initiatives or actions to be considered. Most of these contributions were incorporated into a goal, an initiative, an action plan, or a step in an action plan.
The Plan is designed to be a living, breathing document, guiding us to providing better customer service, being a better place to work for employees, becoming financially stronger, and operating more efficiently. The new plan will allow the Authority to “Tap the Possibilities” of our bright future through the collective involvement of all its employees.
