Harvest the Rain

It's time to start thinking about rain barrels again. Order through our partner, Rainwater Solutions by 11 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2019 and pick them up on June 1 at the Regional Water Authority headquarters in New Haven.

A rain barrel is an easy and inexpensive way to store runoff where it falls, on your property. This water can later be used to water gardens and lawns. Barrels can be purchased through www.rainbarrelprogram.org/rwater, and installation is simple. An overflow valve diverts water away from the barrel and your foundation once the barrel is full. The overflow valve can also be used to connected multiple rain barrels.
