NEW HAVEN – September 26, 2017 – With the start of the fall season, consider taking a hike, brisk walk, jog, or just meander along more than 60 miles of trails through Regional Water Authority (RWA) recreation areas. You can also get closer to nature by enjoying unique wildlife viewing opportunities and by participating in our popular bird-watching events, such as our evening Owl Prowls.
If angling is your thing, you can fish from the shores in the sparkling clean water of our five reservoirs. With nine recreation areas located in 13 communities in Greater New Haven, there is bound to be an area close to your home.
Here are just a few of our upcoming recreational opportunities:
All it takes is an RWA Recreation Permit. With a permit, you can enjoy miles of wide, well-kept trails through a wilderness that is just minutes from your home. Permits range in cost from $20 for a one-year Individual Permit for seniors, the disabled or students, to $50 for a two-year Family Permit. Buying a Recreation Permit is like contributing to a regional conservation organization. It’s a way to help ensure that future generations will have these same natural resources to enjoy. To get more information about recreation permit options and costs, go to http://www.rwater.com/recreation, or contact our Recreation Department at (203) 401-2654 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
