RWA To Improve Customer Experience and Aid In Conservation By Moving To A Monthly Billing Platform

Dec 28, 2021

NEW HAVEN, CT – Beginning January 2022, the Regional Water Authority (RWA) will convert any quarterly water service billing, quarterly PipeSafe billing, and quarterly/semi-annual interior fire suppression billing to a monthly schedule.

Monthly billing will give customers more consistency and predictability in their budget and opportunities to better conserve water. RWA monthly water billing will also align with most other utility bills, making monthly budgets that much simpler to manage. Additionally, monthly billing will provide more frequent and timely information about water usage which will help identify unusual water use more quickly, enabling customers to detect any leaks sooner and identify water conservation opportunities. Early notice of wasted water can allow the community to save money and the environment.

On average, RWA supplies 42.5 million gallons of water a day to a population of approximately 430,000 people in 15 South Central Connecticut municipalities. It takes running four state-of-the-art surface water treatment plants, maintaining over 1,700 miles of underground pipes, managing more than 27,000 acres of watershed land, conducting 110,000 drinking water tests per year, safely operating a myriad of equipment and a team of dedicated, skilled employees working 24/7 to produce and deliver abundant, reliable, affordable high-quality water.

The RWA, is committed to providing reliable, high-quality water at a reasonable cost, and we are dedicated to providing our customers with outstanding customer care.
